Jesus (Jesse) Ochoa, age 83, was called home to his Heavenly Father in his home in Austin, Texas on Saturday, June 25, 2022 after his courageous battle with cancer. Jesse trusted the Lord to lead him home and remained brave and prayerful throughout his illness. Jesse was born April 5, 1939 in McDade, Texas to his parents Jesus and Catarina Ochoa. He attended Manor High School and went on to pursue his vocation by obtaining his license to preach in 1989. Throughout his life, Jesse resided in Dallas, Elgin, and Austin. While fully employed in carpentry, Jesse enjoyed his free time watching football, fishing, farming, and most of all reading Christian Literature.
The bible shaped Jesse into the man he was destined to be; kind, faithful, and giving. Jesse was a charitable man and often donated to Jewish international ministries. He outreached to his community, through ministry, and cooking for the homeless. Jesse married his beloved wife Patricia Ochoa in 1982. His dear children are Rick Ochoa, Sylvia Ochoa, Evette Torres, Laura Ochoa, Tricia Herbst, and Nehemiah Ochoa. He adored his many grandchildren dearly and loved interacting playfully with them . His grandchildren are Jennifer Ochoa, Thomas Alcala, Ray Deleon, Tony Tijerina, April Tijerina, Samantha Gonzalez, Letty Cabral, Matthew Torres, Anthony Llamas, Brittany Jenkins, Cierra Leon, Jeremiah Ochoa, Zecheriah Ochoa, Natalie Herbst, Nichole Herbst, Desiree Herbst and Luciano Herbst, Joshua Ochoa, Matthew Ochoa and Nayleah Ochoa. Jesse loved his siblings Noemi Ochoa, and Esther Martinez. His dear friends are Onesimo Zamora, Mario & Sydell Rodriguez, and Tim Torres. His child who predeceased him was Jesse Jr Ochoa. His siblings that have predeceased him are Manuel Ochoa, Nicolas Ochoa, Abraham Ochoa, Benjamin Ochoa, Juan Ochoa, Pedro Ochoa, Benny Ochoa, Eva Rodriguez, Rebecca Villereal and Sara Ochoa.
Family and friends, please come share the many blessings of Mr. Ochoa’s long and fruitful life on Friday, July 1st at 11:00 am at All Faiths Funeral Home located at 8507 N. Interstate 35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78753. Viewing is from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Home Going Service at All Faiths Funeral Home (North) will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. The graveside service will begin approximately at 1:30- 2:45 pm at Onion Creek Memorial Park 11610 Chapel Ln., Austin Texas 78748. The pallbearers and officiant include Nehemiah Ochoa (officiant), Luis Herbst (pallbearer), Matthew Torres (pallbearer), Anthony Llamas (pallbearer), Joshua Ochoa (pallbearer), Jeremiah Jenkins (pallbearer). Jesse devoted himself to the scripture John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. He longed to see people be saved. To put it quite simply Jesse was a devout servant of God.
